Counter

So, I kind of want to put up a counter to count UP from our wedding...to show how long we've been married. It's a good thing that I haven't been able to find one, because I have the feeling that once the cheesiness of being newly married wears off, I will no longer want that on my blog.

give me a break...you only stop being a "newly-wed" when you decide to. as for us heatons....we're still newly-wed, and sometimes blame things on it...."i didn't feel like doing the dishes yesterday...afterall, we're newly-weds..." or "oh well if we're late, we're newly-weds..." it's the best. i recommend it.

btw: it was really fun when I was 8 months pregnant, and somebody asked me how long we had been married. my response: "we're newly-weds" (with a playful smile)

Good point guys! I don't think that I'll ever think of us as not newly married. But maybe the idea of being cheesy will wear off!

something like this?

<script type="text/javascript">
var minutes = 1000*60;
var hours = minutes*60;
var days = hours*24;
var years = days*365;
var d = new Date();
var t = d.getTime();
// milliseconds from 1970/01/01
var epoch_time_married = 1247680800000;
var time_since = t - epoch_time_married;
var y = time_since /years;
var y_since = Math.floor(y);
var d_since = Math.floor((time_since-y_since*years)/days);

document.write("It's been: " + y_since + " years and " + d_since + " days");
document.write("It's been " + Math.floor(time_since/days) + " days");
</script>
